"Best Practices for Watercolor Success"
An intensive three-day workshop that illustrates how to think more like an artist who just happens to work with watercolor. This workshop is NOT about painting pretty pictures. It’s a no nonsense approach to making better artistic decisions with watercolors before you paint and during the painting process. Watercolor success lies in developing good design and work habits (while shaking off the bad) and being aware of artistic formulas that can improve your artwork.
"Sketching For Success"
Drawing is the foundation of art, regardless of the artistic medium you use. This workshop is designed for students who want a better understanding of why drawing is a necessary skill for artistic development. This three day workshop focuses on how to observe and sketch successfully; so you can effectively pre-plan an artistic idea before you paint. Using presentations, handouts, working en plein air, and daily critiques, students will concentrate on: how to sketch with a purpose, composition, and the gathering of visual information through footnoting.
